Project Overview
KISO24 is a German e-commerce platform specialising in made-to-measure window coverings, including pleated blinds, aluminium blinds, vertical blinds and roller blinds.
We worked on KISO24 as more than a conventional online shop.
The core challenge was to support products that are highly configurable and often manufactured to customer-specific measurements. That required a buying experience capable of guiding users from product discovery through configuration, pricing and checkout with as little friction as possible.
The result is a specialised e-commerce platform built around custom products, product configuration, responsive shopping and conversion-focused UX. The current store offers made-to-measure pleated blinds, blinds, vertical systems and roller blinds, with product variants and promotions integrated directly into the shopping experience.
The Challenge
Selling made-to-measure products online is considerably more complex than selling standard catalogue items.
Customers are not simply choosing a product and quantity.
They may need to specify:
- Product type
- Dimensions
- Installation method
- Material
- Colour
- Fabric
- Control options
- Mounting options
- Product variation
- Additional accessories
Every configuration can affect the final product and its price.
The challenge was to create an experience that makes these decisions understandable while keeping the purchase journey simple enough for customers to complete online.
The Solution
We developed and refined KISO24 around a custom e-commerce workflow where users can discover a product and configure it according to their requirements.
The platform combines:
- Product catalogues
- Custom product variations
- Product configuration
- Dynamic pricing
- User accounts
- Shopping cart
- Checkout
- Payment integrations
- Promotional pricing
- Responsive shopping
- Customer support channels
KISO24 currently supports products including Plissees, Jalousien, Vertikals and Rollos, with individual product families and variations structured throughout the store.
Made-to-Measure E-Commerce
The defining feature of KISO24 is its focus on custom-manufactured products.
Unlike a normal shop where every customer receives an identical item, many KISO24 products are produced according to individual measurements and selected options.
The e-commerce architecture therefore has to collect enough information to generate an accurate order before the product enters manufacturing.
This turns the website into part of the production workflow itself.
Customer Journey
The purchasing journey can move through:
Product Discovery → Product Selection → Configuration → Measurements → Options → Price → Cart → Checkout → Production
The objective is to make a relatively technical ordering process feel straightforward to the customer.
Product Configuration
We built the shopping experience around product configuration rather than relying only on standard WooCommerce-style product variations.
Customers can select the product that matches their window and then customise the order based on the options available for that particular system.
This can include elements such as:
- Width
- Height
- Product model
- Fabric
- Colour
- Mounting type
- Installation method
- Control mechanism
- Accessories
The configuration system gives KISO24 the flexibility required to sell products manufactured specifically for each customer’s requirements.
Dynamic Product Pricing
Because products are made to measure, price can depend on the customer’s configuration.
The platform is designed so that configuration choices can be incorporated into the final purchase price.
This allows customers to see what their selected product costs before proceeding to checkout.
For a custom manufacturing business, this removes much of the manual quotation process that would otherwise be required for online orders.
Product Catalogue
We organised the store around the company’s core product categories.
These include:
Plissees
Made-to-measure pleated blinds with multiple product systems and mounting options.
Jalousien
Aluminium blinds designed for different window and shading requirements.
Vertikals
Vertical blind systems suitable for larger window areas.
Rollos
Roller blind solutions including cassette-based options.
The live store presents these categories alongside promotional products, new products and discount campaigns.
E-Commerce Experience
We worked on the wider online-shopping experience so that customers can move from browsing to configuration and checkout without leaving the platform.
Core commerce functionality includes:
- Product browsing
- Product search
- User registration
- Customer login
- Shopping cart
- Checkout
- Order processing
- Promotional pricing
- Discount campaigns
- Payment processing
- Customer communication
The current platform also supports several PayPal-based payment options as well as advance payment, including instalment-related options where available.
Mobile Commerce
A major consideration for KISO24 is mobile usability.
Product configuration can quickly become difficult on smaller screens if forms, options and measurements are not structured correctly.
We therefore focused on creating a responsive customer journey that makes it possible to:
- Browse products
- Compare categories
- Configure products
- Enter dimensions
- Add items to cart
- Complete checkout
across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Conversion-Focused UX
KISO24 is an e-commerce business, so the platform is designed around more than appearance.
We focus on reducing friction throughout the purchase journey.
That includes areas such as:
- Clear product categories
- Strong calls to action
- Promotional banners
- Visible discount messaging
- Simplified navigation
- Product configuration guidance
- Mobile optimisation
- Checkout usability
- Performance optimisation
The current store, for example, prominently promotes selected products with discounts of up to 45% and routes users directly into configuration.
Customer Support Integration
For custom products, customers sometimes need assistance before placing an order.
We integrated the digital experience with direct support channels so customers can move easily from self-service shopping to human assistance.
KISO24 provides support through channels including:
- Telephone
- Contact forms
These options are integrated alongside the wider shopping journey.
Order & Production Workflow
One of the most important aspects of the platform is what happens after checkout.
Because products are custom manufactured, order information needs to contain the customer’s specific configuration.
The digital workflow therefore helps transform customer selections into structured order information that can be used operationally.
The process becomes:
Customer Configuration → Order Data → Payment → Production → Fulfilment
KISO24 states that many products are individually manufactured, with quoted production and delivery periods depending on the order.
Promotional & Sales Campaigns
The platform also gives the business the ability to run promotions without rebuilding the store.
We support merchandising and campaign structures around:
- Percentage discounts
- Product promotions
- Featured products
- New products
- Category campaigns
- Sale pricing
- Homepage banners
This makes the site an active sales channel rather than a static catalogue.
